To appear on the AoCDM PD register, you will be assessed against the UK Government’s PD Competency standard, created by the British Standards Institution (BSI) PAS8671:2022
PAS8671:2022 specifies four areas of PD competencies;
- Behavioural Competence
- Legislative and regulatory framework for compliance
- Management of design work compliance
- Technical framework for compliance
This standard sets out two levels of PD competency;
- Competencies to act as a buildings regulations principal designer
- Competencies to manage Higher-Risk Buildings projects
