The Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) has placed considerable extra duties and responsibilities onto the construction industry.
Please be aware that the BSA applies to ALL building projects / built environments (from Shed to Shard, to quote the HSE) and it is vital that everyone involved in the built environment is aware of the significant changes that the BSA has introduced in applicable legislation.
One of the main areas of change is competence. The BSA requires that competence should now be proven via third party assessment (based on PAS8670), rather than via self or Employer in-house assessment.
The Association of Construction Design Management (AoCDM) has therefore created three registers for 1). Principal Designers, 2). Principal Contractors and 3). Building Safety Managers.
In addition, we have created specific training power point presentations to help people understand and meet their duties under this complex piece of law
